Pump Fresh for Zing Anything

I was tasked with designing a pump to accompany a stay-fresh vacuum lid used to preserve freshly juiced fruits and vegetables in Mason jars.  

My process involved dozens of sketches and physical models to come up with an ergonomic pump that matched the cap and brand’s design language.

I researched existing pump mechanisms and 3D modeled a SolidWorks assembly that could be made into a working physical prototype.  I modeled various handle shape with comolded ABS and TPR loops and suggested shore hardness, texture, and color variations with photorealistic Keyshot renders.  

Finally I used SolidWorks to create dimension drawings and bill of materials to help the manufacturer create rapid prototypes to test and iterate upon.

Pump Fresh is now available in stores and online.
